Day 1 Arrive Ha Noi
Arrive in Ha Noi. Meet your Salute Vietnam Travel guide and transfer to hotel. Following by a water puppet show in the evening.
Day 2 Ha noi - Ha Long
Enjoy the 170km journey through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta to Ha Long. On arrival, transfer to the nearby port, board the boat cruise at about 12:00 and have your seafood lunch on board. Considered Viet Nam's greatest natural wonder, Ha Long Bay boasts over 3,000 islands that jut out of the sea to provide a spectacular natural environment. We have a chance to stop at the Tuan Chau Island to make a short exploration of this Island and swim at the deserted beach of Titop Islet. It is a time in the evening to enjoy sunset or fishing opportunity while having dinner.
Day 3 Ha Long - Cat Ba
After breakfast the cruise ends at Cat Ba island, one of Viet Nam's most famous national park. We stay on the island, explore the nature trails, with the rest of the day enjoy the island's many unspoiled beaches and sample the fresh seafood in a local restaurant.
Day 4 Cat Ba - Ha Noi - Sa Pa
Heading back to the mainland by an afternoon hydrofoil to Hai Phong. A cyclo tour along the wide boulevards include a visit to the Du Hang Pagoda, founded over three centuries ago. Returning to Ha Noi by road and transfer to Ha Noi ontime to board the night train to the Hillstation of Sa Pa.
Day 5 Sa Pa
Arriving in Lao Cai and transfer further to Sa Pa Hillstation. This area is home to the H'mong and Red Dzao, who are among Vietnam's most colorful minority groups. From here we walk through the Ham Rong Mountains, visit H'mong people in the Cat Cat village, wander in the market bustling with hill tribe traders and witness the ancient tradition of the Red Dzao people - Their "Love Fair" held in every saturday night.
Day 6 Sa Pa - Lao Cai - Ha Noi
To day we trek deeper to meet Red Dzao people in the Ta Van village before getting on the same carriage for our overnight return to Hanoi.
Day 7 Ha Noi
Arrive Hanoi in the early morning. Time for relaxing before starting your Ha Noi city tour. This is a city of lake, shaded bouleveards, verdant public parks and French colonia architecture. The city tour includes such sight as Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum, the one pillar pagoda, historic museum, the temple of literature, the lake of Restored Sword and Old quarter.
Day 8 Hanoi - Hue
Free time until we get the flight to Hue ancient city. From the center of Hue, a boat trip on the romantically named Perfume Pagoda takes us to Hue's best-known religious site, Thien Mu pagoda, and the mausoleum of former emperor Minh Mang, in a tranquil setting of garden and lakes.
Day 9 Hue - Da Nang - Hoi An
This morning we attain a sense of the imperial past, as we explore the Citadel and the Forbidden City founded in 1805 by Kinh Gia Long, the first of Nguyen Dynasty Kings. We also call at King Khai Dinh's Tomb before travelling across the spectacular Hai Van Pass to Da Nang. We tour the fascinating Cham Museum before driving further south to the famous China beach and the temples and caves of the Marble Moutains. Arriving in Hoi An, free to explore further afield by bicycle, relax on a nearby beach or retire to a quiet cafe.
Day 10 Hoi An - My Lai - Quy Nhon
Take a walking tour of the ancient town centre to visit former merchant's houses, the 200 year old Japanese Covered Bridge and the colourful market before leaving continue southwards up Highway One to Quy Nhon, breaking the journey to visit My Lai Massacre Memorial.
Day 11 Quy Nhon - Nha Trang
Travelling by lush rice fields and along spectacular coastal roads, we arrive in Nha Trang. Take time to relax or take a peaceful walk along the beautiful golden beach.
Day 12 Nha Trang
Nha Trang wellcomes you with its white sandy beaches, clear warm water and impressive Cham ruins. A highlight is a half day cruise around the area's beautiful islands with plenty of time to snorkel and swim in the South China Sea and a special seafood lunch in a fishing village.
Day 13 Nha Trang - Sai Gon
After breakfast we take flight to the dynamic Hochiminh City, still called Sai Gon by many locals. A full day city tour takes in the former Presidental Palace, the Notre Dame Cathedral, Sai Gon post office and historic museum. Time at our own exploration.
Day 14 Sai Gon - Cu Chi - Tay Ninh
Early morning drive through typical southern Vietnamses countryside to Tay Ninh Province in the west of Viet Nam. At Tay Ninh visit the incredible Cao Dai Great temple, look inside the temple while attending the noon time service. In the afternoon visit the famous Cu Chi tunnels, an intricate underground network utilised with great effect by the Viet Cong during the war.
Day 15 Saigon - Mekong delta
A full day is spent exploring the bustling region of the Mekong Delta. A visit to My Tho is followed by an afternoon boat cruise along narrow waterways overhung with dense vegetation and try exotic fruits in one of the many tropical orchards, and a chance to enjoy the hospitality of the locals before returning to Sai Gon.
Day 16 Dep Sai Gon
Your tour finishes after breakfast in Sai Gon.
